“Trying Times” is a film about PASHON an inner city teenage girl whose
family moved to the suburbs in order to live a better life. She’s dealing with
life’s adversities such as culture shock, death, sibling rivalry, and JONATHAN,
the dead beat father of her baby. To complicate the situation further, Jonathan
has deep rooted issues of his own.

Pashon crosses paths with a suburban kid named TIMOTHY, who is also dealing
with his own drama-parents who may be separating, his puppy love for Pashon, and
suicidal thoughts. All while struggling to remain captain of the high school wrestling team
and working to gain Pashon’s trust. Timothy is doubtful that his parents settle their
differences with each other. Pashon has a secret she’s keeping from everyone that
only her best friend ANGEL and estranged sister SEMAJA knows about.

Jonathan (the father) is labeled the brutal murderer of Pashon’s friend.
Jonathan’s mother, Lt. LIZ BROOKS of the LA Police Department, has no idea what
she’s about to encounter in solving the murder case, dealing with personal problems of her
own, on the verge of losing a big double homicide case, what she will find my end her
career. Lt. Brooks will not allow the cases go unsolved.  Jonathan wants to proclaim his
innocence to Pashon, though she hates that she was ever involved with him, and while everyone’s
learning from their adversity; Jonathan and Timothy are still faced a life or death decision
for the love of Pashon…
